Chic animals for LV: An installation created by Billie Achilleos for the Fall/Winter 2011-12 press day in Paris

An owl, a chameleon, a beaver, a cobra: animal installations that British artist Billie Achilleos has realized to add a glamorous touch to Louis Vuitton’s press day in Paris. The animals were created by assembling small leather and non-leather accessories from the fashion house.

Each animal has been chosen for a reason that associates them, somehow, to the key values of the house, headed today by Marc Jacobs, and to Vuitton’s collections: the armadillo is synonymous with materials’ resistance; the beaver evokes the functionality of LV creations; the chameleon was picked for its versatility and for its varied colors; the grasshopper because its sound recalls that of zips.

The author of the installations, Billie Achilleos, has already collaborated with the Parisian brand: after graduating in Technical Arts and Special Effects at the Wimbledon College of Art (2007) he was contacted by the house in 2010 and realized for LV the installation Collector, on display in the windows of Louis Vuitton New Bond Street Maison.
