Chains are full of pendants, coins and charms and can be worn in a thousand ways.
In the 1960s it was very trendy to transform a coin into a precious charm to hang on a bracelet or to put many coins together to make a rigid bangle. Also popular were reproductions of ancient Roman coins or coins picked up in travels around the world that were turned into harms. The old religious medallions found in grandma’s drawers featuring the Virgin Mary or other symbolic images were perhaps less prosaic but they full of meaning. The jewelry world has drawn on these inspirations to enrich long chains, earrings and brooches with medals.

I have long favored coin-laden charm bracelets and necklaces...I count that design among the timeless classics.
