Caterina: “After attending high school specialized in modern languages I moved to London where I studied English. I then came back to Italy where I worked for many years in the showrooms of Helmut Lang, Fendi, Roberto Cavalli, Rochas and John Galliano.”
What she does
Caterina: “At the moment I am totally focused on the Emma Purple collection in collaboration with Dalila Rosato, a young and creative design student at Brera’ Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan.”
The collection’s concept
“Our philosophy is based upon upsetting daily routine.
Our inspiration? The way we are, the way we behave, the craziness of circus art… All this led us straight to these shapes and colors. Each of our jewelry pieces has the fascination of an antique world, of something lost , they are unique pieces. The gold pieces of a vanished civilization we may discover again, even if for us it is all new. A preciousness that leaves freedom of expression since any style may be paired with our are eye-catching, standout pieces. They look like amulets, something so strong they create a bond with the wearer.”
How old is the collection?
“Emma Purple was conceived in October 2010.”
Where would you like to see your collections sold?
“The pieces belonging to the Emma Purple collection have been produced for the sample book e and now we are in the sales’ campaign phase. At the time being we do not have any store. I would love our pieces to be sold at 10 Corso Como, LuisaViaRoma (Florence), Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Le grand bazar (Cannes), Colette.”
What do you expect from being published on Vogue.it? Future projects?
Caterina: “I expect visibility online as I truly believe in this medium. I got a lot of inspiration looking at fashion blogs and websites blog and I think this is the future of information especially regarding fashion.”
