It was only a matter of time until pointy toes retook the spotlight after several seasons in the shadows. Pointed pumps appeared on even the most unlikely runways for fall, including the trend-setting Isabel Marant and Stella McCartney. Jean Paul Gaultier was in on the trend, too, albeit in a characteristically experimental way, putting inset wedges under elongated, cantalevered toes.

Pointed toes have long been a classic made famous by the likes of Marilyn Monroe as she "sashayed" into a room. My opinion is that, pointed toes are a perfect choice for those "purposely fitted" dresses, skinny jeans and pencil skirts. Those spiked lovelies from Christian Louboutin are wonderful.....they have just the right amount of "edge" to make and outfit pop! Those by Diego Dolcini and Jonathan Kelsey are also favorites.
