Having released a tantalizing array of teasers at the end of 2009, adidas managed to set tongues wagging and fingers hovering over the buy now button ahead of the launch of their range of Starwars inspired clothing and footwear.
With the wait finally over, full details of the collection were released last month in conjunction with a lavish new film shot by Partizan director Nima Nourizadeh. The clip features Snoop Dogg, Daft Punk and intergalactic-badass Darth Vader strutting it to a cut of the Imperial March remixed by Toronto-based sound designer Mathieu Lafontaine. http://mathieulafontaine.com/
Drawing on the iconic characters, vehicles and costumes from the cult film classic, adidas have developed pieces influenced by Yoda, Leia and the Millenium Falcon. And if you’re more inclined towards the Dark Side, take your pick from Stormtrooper-styled midtops, a caped Vader hoodie or Death Star shell toes.
The SS line is the first in a series of pieces set to hit stores over the course of the year, with updates and first-look previews available at the dedicated Facebook page.
