When the 63rd annual Cannes International Film Festival opens today, the activity unfolding outside the cinemas will rival any theater taking place on-screen. Brands including Giorgio Armani and Vionnet have been vying to dress talent scheduled to tread the red carpet, such as Michelle Williams (“My Blue Valentine”), Russell Crowe (“Robin Hood”) and Charlotte Gainsbourg (“The Tree”).
