I read an article on vogue.com which indicates that the "reign" of the gladiator sandal is over (probably wishful thinking, as I know that many people are not fond of them). Well, I beg to differ. As an avid gladiator sandal lover and owner of several pair, I was distressed (not literally), to say the least, after reading that "kooky talk" (lol!) The article basically said that, the gladiator is losing it's luster in favor of "the graphic sandal." The graphic sandal examples were those such as the Vionnet, Diane Von Furstenberg, Matt Bernson, Michael Kors and Fendi offerings. I must say that I see a bit of "gladiator influence" in all of them. Were the article completely true, we wouldn't see those fabulous designs from Sigerson Morrison (I love them all....especially the knee high version), Tapeet, Koolaburra, bernardo, Joie and Henry Beguelin. Whew......I feel better now! Whatever is written, I will hold my head high and I continue wearing, what I think to be one of the Best sandal styles ever designed!
