Rachel Comey officially launches e-commerce on April 15, with a new Website devoted to her men’s shoes.
Rachelcomeymens.com will offer an edited selection of 16 of the designer’s handcrafted styles, priced between $300 and $400. To avoid competition with her retail partners, Comey is only making available styles and colors that haven’t been picked up by stores. (Comey’s shoes are currently carried by Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman and Shopbop.com.)
“Each of the men’s shoe styles are chosen for the site, after all our boutiques and department stores — [like] Barneys — [have] placed their orders,” Comey told Footwear News. “In future seasons, we will add new styles and items.”
Going forward, Comey said she would also like to offer more experimental silhouettes, as well as a section where customers can sell their own “gently worn” Rachel Comey shoes.
Comey wanted to steer clear of the look of other shopping sites, instead arranging hers as a collection of videos showcasing each shoe. Sean Carmody of Commissionedworksny.com collaborated on its creation, and art dealer Pascal Spengemann wrote the content.
The designer said her e-commerce business will focus solely on men’s right now.

Sounds interesting......I look forward to browsing through the collection. I've featured two styles of her men's shoes carried by Barneys.
