Alber Elbaz Awarded for his Impact on Paris

LANVIN creative director Alber Elbaz has been honoured by the city of Paris for his impact upon it. The designer was awarded the coveted Grande Médaille de Vermeil de la Ville de Paris by Parisian Mayor Bertrand Delanoë this weekend at a ceremony within city hall.

Elbaz thanked Chloéhoncho Ralph Toledano for "opening the doors to Paris" by recruiting him from Geoffrey Beene to Guy Laroche, and to Lanvinowner Shaw-Lan Wang for welcoming him eight years ago as her creative director, WWD reports.

"There's so many things," Elbaz enthused when asked what he most loved about the City of Light. "It's a dream city and it's a city of dreamers. I will be original, and I will say Parisians!"
