A burgundy color palette has emerged as one of the season's top trends in Paris. Balenciaga and Lanvin showed head-to-toe looks in the dark red hue, while high boots had an ample dose of the color at Christian Dior and Manish Arora, where Pollini's Nicholas Kirkwood added fringe and flora as embellishments. A mid-calf style was offered by Tabitha Simmons. At Mechante of London, the color appeared on a python wedge with suede ruffle, and at Aperlai on a croc bootie. Both Roger Vivier and Raoul opted for perfed detailing on a corset bootie and ankle-strap Mary Jane style, respectively, while Nina Ricci went for Victorian corset-laced pumps. Cesare Paciotti and Celine both worked with the season's pointy toe for a beautiful tailored effect, creating an ankle-strap lace-up bootie and a loafer-inspired suede slip-on.
