Overembellishment?

Fergie/Gucci: This dress looks ready to fly away. Integrating the feathers or fur farther down into the look, like a short-sleeve jacket, would be a much better effect.



Matisse/Matthew Williamson: A feather and fur jacket worn over a mesh blouse with animal print and red ribbon seems like too much going on. The chic alternative would be Matthew Williamson’s ensemble with the right amount of fur and print.



Miley Cyrus/Roksanda Ilincic: Unfortunately, the train of the teen’s dress brings to mind toilet paper that got stuck. The same embellishment with a better placement would solve the problem.



Nicki Minaj/Basso & Brooke: Even Lady Gaga wouldn’t try to get away with wearing a dress with a 3-D rib-cage-like structure motif. This cool dress gets the fun print and shaping inspiration, minus the exoskeleton.

As a long standing fan of anything embellished, this IS a bit much, even for my tastes! Worst of all is the "Nicki Minaj look." I don't agree that Lady Gaga wouldn't wear the dress...she's the first person who came to mind when I saw the picture!
