Mango Heads to J.C. Penney

Girls who want a Mango fix stateside will be able to find the brand’s wares at JC Penney come Fall 2010. That’s good news for fans of the Spanish fast-fashion retailer. But it’s not soon enough if you’re looking to get your hands on Lee Jean Youn’s Mango Fashion Award-winning collection, pictured above. Earlier this year, the Korean designer beat out bigger names like Peter Pilotto and Josh Goot, as well as about 250 others, to take home Mango’s 300,000-euro prize and the chance to sell his creations at the label’s stores. The 11-piece range hits Mango’s Soho flagship on March 15. Another perk? Perhaps thanks to the exposure from the competition, Youn will have a small presentation in Paris during the January haute couture shows.

The company is now accepting applications for the third edition of the Mango Fashion Awards from up-and-comers who’ve produced at least two commercial womenswear collections. Click here for an application, and good luck. The deadline for entry is February 28, and the winner will be announced next November. We look forward to seeing your designs in stores (maybe even JC Penney?) sometime in 2011. (Style.com)

That's exciting......J.C. Penney continues to "up the ante" with their addition of designer collections giving many of the more popular stores a run for their money.

I love to wear gloves this time of the year.........they're one of my favorite accessories. Of course it has much to do with the fact that there are so.....many attractive options these days. It can't just be any pair, they have to be "jazzy." I prefer the opera length leather gloves to those that just cover the hand. Great gloves can be a perfect accessory for your favorite coat or jacket. Of all my gloves, I have three pair that I favor over the others.....one pair is metallic silver, another is fuchsia with orange polka dots and a green pair accented with buttons. While I have the traditional black and brown, I like to mix it up a bit.
